Essay Stress

15 hours left to finish the first part of the c-essay after more or less waisting two days just sitting and reading and facebooking. Could have done that a lot better. At least the sun is up when I go to school because it's when I go back home. That gotta be more depressing than the opposite. Then it at least feels like a good day o your way back home. Oh, and the snow still clings on us and due to more sunshine we will have a lot of ice on the roads in the morning. Not fun walking.

Royal Wedding

Today is a historical day in Sweden. Crown princess Victoria is now engaged and the wedding is set for next year. Magic is in the air. Everything is so much brighter now. In the morning the cold still hold us in a grip and the snow laid waist high, then the news broke out and the sun emerged and the snow melted away and the warmth spread across Karlstad. Truly magical. Of course at least for 80% of the Swedish people who prefer the monarchy.

With the news, the financial crisis disappeared from the news. Talk is that when the wedding is upon us, this will push Sweden out of the crisis. Or at least boost the domestic economy and a flow of foreign money into Sweden. Take that all who wants a Swedish Republic. This pushed them away for another 50 years (with condition that the royal family don't screw something up).

Oh, yeah and the work with the C-Essay is going fine, although there is some pressure to complete the first chapter on Friday. Oh well, everything will be fine. Another special thing today is the day before the Lent and with it is the tradition to have a Semla (description and picture on wikipedia for the curious one). I really am a candy pig.

Crawling to the Cross

Watching the money squeezing show called Melodifestivalen. Televoting, Televoting all the time. Of course it is only to suck our wallets empty for copies of song. Rickfors? The song is a new version of his old song. Creativity is not our strongest side and unfortunatly the voters don't see to mind. Of course this gonna punish us in Moscow and then they should shut up about neopotism in voting. It is not good material. EMD is just massproduced music. The clothes make me think about Young Frankenstein and the stepping scene and that was much better.

Molly was at least better than BWO this year. BWO should have continued the course of earlier years. Those were better. Also I must admit that the internationl jury did a good jobb choosing Sofia as there nominé. That song was probably the best song this evening (Of course I'm being inconsistant when I say that they shoul try to be unique as this is definitly a copy of Helen Paparizzou from 2006, but this is according to me much better).

Doin the Omoralisk Schlagerfestival

We have have entered the period of Eurovision Song Contest again. Week after week we are feed with music that makes me wanna throw up. The song only center around love, peace and understanding. Of course they are all worth striving for, but God, the music around it are killing me. The thing about the Swedish part of the competition is that we take it so seriously. We really want to win. We even have a jury to make our songs more international in the rest of Europe. There purpose is only to tell the voters that you voted wrong. It is better to dump the voters and let the jury choose so we can win everything and let the voters vote for the other countries.

The funny thing about this years competition is that I begin to understand why we don't do so well anymore. We are unimaginative. The songs are not new. We copy and paste everything. Last Saturday we had at fourth place H.E.A.T., a rock group. At the moment I was busy clearing Chrono Trigger, but the intro riff made me lock up. Mostly because I recognized it from Ronnie James Dio's song Caught in the Middle from the Holy Diver album. Point is that that song is the second worst song from that album (not that it is bad, the album is kinda good and the song above average, but they can't possibly beat that). Onward to the next song (don't remember order or number) which was Markoolio with a refrain taken from Disney's Lion King Can You feel the Love Tonight. He is not an Elton John. Last song I remember is Amy Diamond (don't know why I remember that one). That song sounds very familiar. I don't know if it is some special song or if it sounds like all her other songs. The best song was definitly Doin' the Omoralisk Schlagerfestival" in the break with the history of the Swedish competition at home.

Time Maschine

Monday again. Back in school after a good weekend. During Thursday me and my classmates had a small gathering (partying, but not out of control ... almost). Friday was study day, with a small headache. After lunch it was back home and I had to try out one of the two games I bought to the DS. Began with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Good game, good music. Story maybe not that interesting. At least not interesting to make you see yourself be defeated the tenth time by the third boss. Pounded to the ground by enormous walking zombie. It was blood all over the screen. The scream was horrible, until the fifth time that is.

So naturally I changed game to Chrono Trigger. A game originaly from 1996 made by the so called "dream team" consisting of the biggest names from Square and Enix (SquareEnix today). A marvelous beautiful game from the SNES with excellent music and a driving story of time traveling, hate, revenge and a galactic parasite that devours the earth. First time it actually reach Europe. Saddest part in the middle was slightly ruined by the fact that I've already read about it, but it was worth it with the amazing movie they showed for that particular moment. You really need to play it at least once. Bad thing is the fact that it is soon time to write the C-Essay and I can't be distracted. So either I finish the games post-haste or I have to push it forward to better times. Let see which goes best. Would really be good with a time machine now.

Enter the Matrix

Have you ever thought about the fact that people look very much alike? Not that they dress the same or something similar, but that you recognize their faces even though you don't know them? This is not that the same actor played two different roles in different movies, but that persons looks like people you have meet before. Their face have the same lines, same nose and so on. Also that these persons are separated by a huge geographical area. So it is very unlikely that it is really them you know. This is probably a proof we have a limited sets of either genes or God's (or any other religious being or technical for the Matrix believer) limited creativity in creating various people.

And no, no actors or other famous people. Just ordinary people (today that is, who knows abut the future). Hey, the updating goes much more often now. And nothing is actually relevant.

Communication

Information Day in school. Communication between cultures, power language and some other interesting stuff. The big name for this was Jan Eliasson, former Foreign Secretary of Sweden and UN worker and diplomat. A very interesting day indeed with good food and lots of "Fika" (for non-swedes it means to take a coffee). That ended with three cups of coffee. I have never taken that much coffee on the same day. I really miss Starbucks. Anyway, still well spent money.

A Long, Long, Long Recap,

Really, I should start update more often or at least once a week. Then again, I can refer to this comic for a good reason http://www.bobandgeorge.com/archives/index.php?date=040404

What happened last week? Studies most, until Thursday for the Homecoming Weekend when it is party till you drop and... except that I got my mother over until Friday. Nothing kills a party as you know that there is a slight chance you will embarrass yourself in front of your parents. Oh well, everything goes... except that I found out the day before that the party been postponed until a later date. What the hell, I haven't partied in two months and that was after a period of 5 months before that. I need it. Damn 21 year rule in the US.

Fortunate enough there was an alternative. More or less a friendly gathering of old friends. Not to much and enough to test the limits. Very nice and calm, and still I wake up the next day with a headache. Life's not fair.

Friday and my mother goes back to the family house. And I actually went to the library for 2 hours. Funny enough, I got back my books I lent to a student more than a year ago. I actually forgot about those. Another funny thing about that is that she actually expected me to be in the library. At the same place as the year before. Even though I haven't been there for 6 months. I really sit at that place to much.

Saturday meant another party, or more a birthday party. And it was an extremely fun time. New people, old friends and the day ended with them smuggling me in a nightclub with lowest age of 23. Damn nightclubs 23 year rule, when I'm finally 21 there is 23 instead. At least I can get liquor on my own.

Today had an interesting story. I bought a t-shirt before I left that my friends took care of in the meantime. Today I get to understand that it somehow got drowned in beer and riped in three pieces. God that was funny. It was damn funny, wish I been there, but that would unfortunately have stopped it from happening. Still a good story.

Movie Time

Went to the cinema today and watched Valkyrie. Actually good, even if some of the thrill is lost when you know whats happened. They say you should experience movies in the cinema. And with that it means irritating children stomping in the ground when they were bored, chatting when nothing happened and directly disturbed the illusion of the movie. One day I got to get a room just for movies at home. No disturbing people that I didn't invite (and then it is of course my problem).

Another problem is that a couple a years ago you could go to the cinema and see a commercial that appeared nowhere else. Not today. There is today a very high chance that commercial appear at both TV and Cinemas. Of course going to the cinema for the commercials appears to be something Swedish. Maybe have something to do with the low numbers of channels on the TV once upon a time.
