The Mysterious Cities of Gold - S3E25 - The Serpent and the Lion

Only one episode left of season 3

The kids are allowed an audience with the sheik of the beduins who gives them the second veil and personally show them the way to a temple of the stars where the same symbol lies. Meanwhile Zares ship have been spotted so Mendoza and the beduins prepare to fight him off with their flying machines. Laguerra follows the kids. At the temple they figure out the puzzle in order to get light to shine through the two veils showing a map to the the fourth city of gold. I'm reminded of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and the great wall where you had to put four emblems together in order to open a gate. They follow the map with Laguerra right behind them and they get to a statue head surrounded by a mountain range that only could be entered when Esteban called down the sun to show the shadows of the lion and the serpent where they placed the medallions. Standing infront of the statue activated its eyes and as they ground crumbled revealing the whole statue, its eyes fired a beam of light creating a bubble that protected the kids high in air while the city activated itself and let them of at the entrance.

Meanwhile the air battle starts fine as they are able to slow it down, but once Ambrosius uses the Black Sun he picks the machines one by one. Malik and Mendoza boards the ship, but Malik gets captured by Zares who throw him overboard (onto the sheiks flying machine) and Mendoza is captured. Apparently Laguerra have been signalling Zares by some pendant and boards the ship as they fly towards the fourth city of gold.

The documentary was about inspiration of the Temple of the Stars. I thought it was just Petra in Jordan, you know from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, but apparently it was a tomb of Darius the first in Iran that inspired them. If both are connected I wouldn't know. Then they talked about the dromedary and how hard they are to control. Makes me think of the llamas in Tintin and the Temple of the Sun.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - S3E24 - The Chaldean Desert

How come there is always a crescent mountain range or something like that?

Mendoza has to partake in a duel with the champion of the beduins on the condition that the beduins will release them and help them look for the children and if they loose their lives are forfeit. Obviously he wins, but it sure looks like he took a beating. Meanwhile the kids are able to escape thanks to Laguerra that got wounded with the Jabbar's guards. She is allowed onboard and they go back to get the veils. Zia uses her telekinesis to get the box out of the treasure chamber guarded by the panther and Laguerra is able to whip it to the cockpit as they are shoot at by cannon fire from Jabbar's guards. Zares and Gaspard escapes on the airship while the kids and Laguerra speeds off.

When they open the box while camping for the night there is only one veil with a serpent embroidered on it so they are still missing one. Although, I would guess that the veil have two faces. During the night they are awaken by the beduins and Mendoza that found them using the flying machines, and during the morning they travel back to the beduin camp. It's also revealed that the beduins are the decendant to the people that took the veils from Akkad and that they have connections to Mu since their flying machines are described in Tao's book. Meanwhile Gaspard have informed Ambrosius that the Mu-pyramid have started up for some reason.

The documentary was about the classic Iranian training as well as ice houses they created to store ice from the mountains. A bit like the Gerudo place in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - S3E23 - The Veils of Rana'ori

Maybe the youtube-translation program was correct about the golden fleece being an important item for this show

As I guessed it was Sancho and Pedro that had caught up with Mendoza. They are all brought to the beduin camp where they meet the chief who doesn't like foreigners and pretty much tells them to stay and wait for a caravan since it isn't there buisness. Later one of the flying contraptions land with the female pilot, who saved them when they were caught in a dead end, arrives with news that they found the golden condor to east, but the beduins won't lend them any dromedary so Mendoza and gang steals two and head off, but are quickly followed by the flying machines and the dromedary riders that bring them back to face the punishment for stealing dromedaries.

Meanwhile, the kids intend to escape during the night, but Ambrosius compass tells them that some orichalcum items are nearby, pointing to Jabbars treasure chamber. There they found the veils, but are caught by Jabbar that imprisons them. In the morning Zares arrives to get the veils and are also shown the kids. As the transaction goes on, the kids reveals that the coin that are used to buy the veils aren't of gold, but orichalcum, but since they don't have any value Jabbar's soldiers attack Zares, Laguerra and Gaspard. The kids flees and head for the condor. Nice to see Gaspard actually being competent in a sword-fight for once.

The documentary was about the caravan pitstops that Jabbar controlled and also about how the "oasis's" was supplied with water.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - S3E22 - The Lord of the Desert

Surely a face you can trust

The kids are taken by Zares and brought to the door that triggered the room to open, the kids push the buttons so that Zares and Laguerra falls and Zares grabs hold in the wall, stopping the fall. He then tosses Laguerra to the entrance and scale the wall for himself and give chase to the children. Kokapetl charges his face and make him fall once again. The kids reaches the ziggurat entrance and push the tiles away from each other, blocking the entrance so that Zares have to smash himself out of it. They enter Ambrosius ship and grabs the compass, some coins and maps, outsmarting Gaspard on their way and getting away on the condor. They find an oasis on the map and land there searching for clues on the princess that made the veils, but are arrested by the local lord for not paying tribute to him. They give him the coin marked with the Order of the Hourglass and he becomes suspicious and accuse them of stealing, they counter that it's their own business and the lord shouldn't meddle in their affairs since if that rumour takes hold, the businessmen will leave the oasis. He makes them stay for dinner under threat, and when they try to leave to sleep in the condor, they are informed the gates are closed to protect from bandits, trapping them with the lord.

Sancho and Pedro found a map and dromedary that takes them out in the desert in search for Mendoza while he and Marik discuss ancient stories and such and how he can reach Akkad from their outpost once they get there. During the night they hear a sound and stands alert, waiting for something to come. I would guess Sancho and Pedro, but we will see in the next episode.

The documentary was about Persepolis, the city that was only used once a year, and was the inspiration for the murals in the ziggurat. They also talked about some kind of talisman that could be made with inscriptions from one of the oldest known languages on earth.
