Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

Tomorrow it's Christmas Eve, you know, the day which is Christmas. Why should you ever celebrate Christmas Day, you don't celebrate New Years Day. And as an early Christmas present I got a mail today, containing my result from the Spanish test. IG, 90/195. Nice of them to send it till the day before Christmas. It even gets better when the test is taken again, the same day the statistic test. I could if I was super efficient in Statistics and write the test in 1 hour, maybe 2 and then continue to take the Spanish test which has 1 hour extra scheduled compare to statistics, but I have a feeling it probably don't work, especially not to study for two completely different subject. It would probably work if I had my statistic literature in Spanish, but this isn't the case and I doubt the teachers would appreciate it.

A couple of hours left until I get home now. Hopefully the trains will go as scheduled. Lately a couple of my friends have had a bit of trouble when it comes to th public transportation company. Still, I will probably miss the decorating and cleaning and all that stuff. When I get back I should probably start cleaning up my own apartment. Getting a bit dusty. And all the recites are taking over my table.

Well, that's probably that for this years blog production. I will probably not be able to get a hold on a computer long enough to give you an update during the rest of December, so I will say Happy Christmas (Holiday or whatever) and A Happy New Year and I will be back in January and this blog will celebrate a 1 year existence without anything. If I remember it amidst all Spanish and statistics tests. Have a good time everybody.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Going home tomorrow, and on the news there has been report that parts of Sweden will face traffic problems due to the recent snow. It doesn't feel good with me taking the public train company, especially since many of my friends experinced some troubles with it since the snow fall. Of course I have some better starting fields then them and are the following:

1) Well, I'm me. I'm a lucky fellow and life just floats on without trouble *knock on wood*.
2) I'm not entering the more problematic city areas compared to the others, of course that woldn't stop anything from happening *knock on wood* and
3) Well, I don't have anything here, hmm, it's not many assuring things actually. Oh well.

I'm staying at home until January 2nd, like most Christmases. Spent today in the library as usually. They are open tomorrow as well so I could actually turn up for some hours of non-productive studies, but I'm to lazy for that. But fear not, I will return at January 4th and retake my place on the 4th floor, the first 4-table on the left side facing the entrance at the second set of stairs, on the seat farthest from the entrance. Yeah, that's my place, nobody else's.

And soon a lot of people will be back for the spring semester, unfortunately for the last time. It's been 4 great years for some of us and I will really miss them, but of course this will open up new possibilities so we shall see what this leads to, with work and all those things...there is no that would like to sponsor me to study all my life? Anyone?...please? No one? Huh, guess I have to work then.

Well, lets forget that for a moment as there are a holiday first that shall be enjoyed first. And with it a new start. And with that some New Years promises. Maybe time to pick up the training again as the kilos have been drifted away again. And unfortunately in muscular mass. Easy to say before the holiday of eating for a whole week with "Julbord", New Years supé and birthday cake. And Chocolate, a lot of chocolate. And Julmust. Visit an IKEA and buy this soda if they have it. It's well recommended, and no, I don't get paid for saying that, although it would have been nice, but I guess I don't have enough people reading this to be able to get some contract. I will try to put in a post tomorrow as well before I leave Karlstad, so I won't greet you Happy Christmas (or whatever you use) until tomorrow. The day before Christmas, and then it will probably be inactive for some time until I get back again, or not, depends if I get stuck in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. See you all.

A Christmas Carrol

Today is the shortest day of the year...in the sense of daylight hours that is. So now it gets brighter for every day. It's really needed as it is dark, cold and overall depressing. And supposedly dangerous to your health as well with the lack of vitamin D. Go figures. The environment is out to get us and we try to save it. Feels comfortable doesn't it?

Anyway, it's 3 days until Christmas. And then New Years. Nothing happens in between, nothing, whatever you here, nothing happens. Still, what is Christmas for? I know the whole Jesus story, the better of mankind, but I can't help but just feel so dirty with all the commercialism that has hijacked it and degenerated it to a holiday of greed fueled by the evil corporate companies. You know, finding the right gifts to everyone.Actually, it gone so far that I understand Scrooge in A Christmas Carrol by Charles Dickens. Living alone from the outside world not wanting to see the misery around you and hide in blissful ignorance. Why did the ghost have to drag him out in the evil world we live in? It doesn't get better if you transport the setting till todays world. I would guess that even the ghost would advise him to stay away. If he wasn't that sadistic at some times.

This leads to another question. If your actions leads to forging of chains that will bind you in your afterlife, what happens if you are just average? You know, more or less neutral? Do you get any chains for that? And how bad do you need to be to get a visit from the Christmas ghost?I would really like to get a status report to see if I'm on the right side of the good/bad scale, and how do you measure your actions. If you do something out of good that after a long chain of events leads to a very bad thing, does that affect the scale in a bad way? You know the saying,

"the road to hell is littered with good intentions"

Interesting things to think about during these times isn't it. I will probably get in something to morrow as well so you hav to wait for my Christmas thanks.

Out In The Cold

It's very cold at the moment. The snow lies deep outside my window and, more positively though, shines up the very long nights we have. And tomorrow it is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. The snow is fun, but causes a lot of inconviniences in the whole country. Anyway, now the biggest idiots get some hallucinated draft under the wings and begins to question the climatechange. Granted, it looks a bit weird when we have it one of the colder and snowiest winters in amny years when people are arguing that we are getting nearer to an extreme warmth period where 2 degrees celscius is portrayed as something evil. At the moment I believe most Swedes would not mind that.

I even have a book somewhere that says that we are one of the countries that benefits from this as the usage of the earth will increase and so on. And then it is these paradoxes I find strange about all this (granted I'm not a scientist in those subjects so I could be wrong), for example, the warmth will take away the golf stream and that will cause it to get colder here, wouldn't that take each others out? Of course the ice will be longer and so on, but the atmospheric temperature would somewhat balance each others, right? Still, they are right that it might be something problematic here, but we should continue the struggle to become climate neutral. The skeptics might find this normal, but it is in fact disturbing that most of December actually was pretty warm and without warning changed till this colder and snowier weather. THAT is the problem, the weather is getting unstable and more unpredictable. And they don't see it, idiots.

Anyway, the political landscape seems to favor the greenparty as they appear to become the third largest party in the next election. I don't like them. They struck me as, unreasonable. They don't like nuclear power, no more exploting of water as that destroy the wildlife, the sun doesn't work in Sweden (it's completely dark in some parts of Sweden at the moment) and the wind is not enough spread as the people like it, but not near them. Where the hell are we gonna get our energy? And then that they are a city party with access to collective transportations and I'm raised 7km from my hometown centrum and then 4 miles to the bigger cities and they don't see the need of a car (and apperentely one of the spokepersons travels with flight every week to be with her familiy while the other drives a SUV, hypocritic feelings anyone?). At least it could be worse, they could have been a religious party, and the only one in the Swedish parliement are kd and they are walking on the edge.

Problem with them is that they have lined up with the left party and Social democrats. And I don't have much over for the left party except the thought that their view on the society when it has completely reformed is a very healthy view. Unfortunately it doesn't work at the moment. Maybe later. And don't get me started on the Social democrats. I would like to like them, but teaming up with V and Mp makes me so dislike them, and they frankly are not giving me a future to strive for. Both V and Mp does that, but I don't approve there methods to get there, while I understand S's methods, but not the end result. So I'm forced to go to the central-right alliance. Supporting the Fp, as they have had a past with good ideas, and still do, even if it somehow obscured by some in the party at the moment and have been one of the true social liberal parties in Sweden. So I have to stick with M who no one has any idea where they are, are they social conservative, social liberal or something else, C which I don't like for some reason, could be there strange energy politics and their party leader that don't seems to understand politics and lastly kd, the party I never will vote for or understand. Mostly out of the believe we shall not mix religion and politics, no moral preachers based on their religion thank you.

So at the moment the center-green is leading with 9%, 51-42. It's 9 month till the election. So a lot of things can happen. Unfortunately for Fp, I voted for the losing side at the last national election. Still they have the chance to regain it even if it looks bleak at the moment. During other years before election the opposition usually lead, but then for the running up to the election the it gets more even as the campaign starts. Mostly because people choose sides later and later which gives a lot of statistical errors (lucky I took that statistical course now, right? Beware that this is a huge ironic comment). I still have faith, and it would be more democratic to actually reelect them to keep S away from the government so that we get a little bit stability on th echanges done by the alliance as well a slap in S face so that they could come up with some better politics. At the moment they just don't cut it.

About Avatar...Again

There sure is a lot of double posting around these days. I guess I have to do it after neglecting it most of the time. Anyway, it suddenly struck me about Avatar that I recognised their spirutual belief. That the world is connected with all living and that you actually can tap into these memories and thoughts. Very familiair as I actually wrote something similair about that some time ago here. Not enteirly same, but it goes around the same way to think, that all living are connected and shair all feelings and memories. And why am I bringing this up? To have my back covered if I ever use this belief in anyway to get money. I don't want to be acused of ripping of this movie, and I can't possible done that now when I actually have it shown that I thought upon this almost half a year before the movie hit the cinema. Take that.

As a side note I forget to note in earlier posts. When I got home after the movie, guess what I'm greeted by when I turn on the TV. It's the show På Spåret and the contestants are currently saying Avatar, as in the Hindu mythology. These coincidences are really funny actually. Really, they are very slim indeed and just makes it more fun when they happen.

Earth Mofo

The climate is todays topic, unfortunately for everyone that is tired of it, including me. Not that it is a bad thing, but due to todays media society I just can't stand 15 minutes of constant finger pointing that I destroy the world with my presence and complete lack of understanding for those not living in a city with access to everything or even decent collective communication ways. So now the talks collapsed, a surprise for some, not for anyone that has studied international politics. And the biggest problems lies that some are democracies and other are non-democracies. How is that possible you say? Quiet simple the environmental groups, who are most disappointed for some reason even though having a lot of experience of politicians, blames the politicians for trying to save their faces, instead for the climate. And the problem with that? Of course, the democracies represent their people, and frankly, most countries populations don't care about the environment. Explain otherwise why there ain't any country led by the green party's as the biggest party. These protest groups, if they want to get what they want, should get to these countries and try to teach and pursue them to vote on the "right" alternative, that is more environmental friendly politicians. Not attacking a capital where the population at least sympathize with these groups. Due it the democratic way will you, even though democracy is a bitch.

And then we have the undemocratic countries. Good luck with them. It's even funny to see the news analysis that brings up the youth that was part of these groups and that they feel these to be a democratic collapse. You're kidding me right? Most countries are not seen as democracies, the G77 group was lead by Sudan, the country that has an internal war and genocide within its borders. Come on, I knew education had slipped in Sweden, but that all kids in the world had lost their minds was something new. And once again I'm inclined to believe that these organizations are cluttered with low-educated people, led by intelligent, scheming bastards.

You have now witnessed my trust in mankind. As a conclusion I have determined that let us kill ourselves with this suicidal thing that now is upon us according to these groups. Trying to save humankind is one of the most egoistical thoughts in existence and a sign of our strive to survive as a species. Let us die if that what we want, the earth will most likely heal itself in about a hundreds year. Of course the biggest problems will be the extinction of a lot of species, but nature will probably take care of that as well. Have some faith people.

Avatar

So I just came back from seeing James Cameron's Avatar, and it was very good. Not blew me away good, but I guess that's just me. A decent movie. Probably spoiled by the fact that I spent to much time on the Tvtropes home page. You can spot a plot point miles ahead. So that let it just be left on feelings the movie creates for you and it delivers on that aspect. Except when it's disturbed by bloody annoying kids that run across the damn screen. Keep the children at home people. Damn kids. For you who intends to see the movie, don't continue to read as their will be spoilers now until the end of the post.

Also, to burst a bubble for some of the reviewers on some of the Swedish newspapers, you think that the movie was original? It was ridden with clichés. Actually it reminded me a lot of old animated movies. A spiritual people living in a tree and evil humans in machines cutting down the woods? Sound a lot like Ferngully. Even the human that become one of them. Of course Cameron understood not to be subtle who the bad guy was. No evil deity of smoke, no, just mankind. Military recon man from a foreign military ends up with the daughter of the native tribes? Pocahontas. No doubt. Beating a giant monster in order to gain the trust of the tribe? Not a movie, but a comic, Scrooge McDuck in The Land of the Pygmy Indians by Carl Barks. Nature itself amassing it's forces to quell the human destruction? The Don Rosa follow up, War of the Wendigos. And that is just animated and Disney stories I mentioned.

Aside from the unoriginal story, it's still good. All my fantasy books have almost the same story, but it is the packaging and retelling that makes it worth reading it. All fantasy books are ripping of Lord of the Rings, but they ad new thing and perspectives and puts the issues closer to what is important today, or criticizing what happens just now. But the packaging of Avatar is amazing. They might scorn its almost over the top use of 3d, but it's beautiful to look at, even to I get video game flashbacks. A funny thing if you are a James Cameron fan, you could always try to spot hints from his earlier works in the movie. For example, the helicopter ships or whatever reminds me of the flying Terminator attack ships, the seeds of the great tree of The Abyss aliens or whatever, a bomb ship of the drop ship from Aliens, you get the picture. Very fun actually.

As you probably noticed I had time to do this during one sitting which could indicate I wasn't that into the story. Well, I blame the kids. If I ever get rich I should do as one character in an old Swedish Christmas calender story did, he bought all the tickets for one show and kept them all. That is filthy rich. Buying out the entire cinema just to not be disturbed. Unfortunately he wasn' t able to watch the movie as they faced some techincal problems. Good idea though. All in all, I highly recomend Avatar this winter, it is well worth your money.

In Memory of Roy E Disney

OK, this thing demands a post for itself. Shortly after submitting the latest post I found out the horrible news that Roy E. Disney unfortunately has left this world. The man standing behind such classics as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin and a lot of others. These two I mentioned has a huge sentimental value to me as I actually believe Beauty and the Beast was the first movie I saw in a cinema, and it was amazing. Everything about it was so beautiful and well-made. The music, the art and the characters were all so memorable. Best part is the intro, the haunting music as we flies thru a forest onward to the castle and then are told the story by this raspy voice looking at the stained glass. And then the end. I shall not lie, I actually cried when I saw the ending, the Beast apparently lying dead expressing his love to Belle, the rain, the tears and the music. It was a symbiosis that was beyond anything I've seen. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, and apparently I'm not alone in that statement as we actually had a discussion about the best Disney movie of all times during Saturdays Christmas party and this was our pick.

It's a bit ironic that he succumbed to cancer as the Disney company is resurrecting its 2d animation again with The Princess and the Frog. And maybe Disney will once again return to the joy that was the 90's movies, but will it be the same without a Disney i the company reminding the business what really matters? Or will this signify the end of one of the most beloved companies that have enchanted millions, or even billions with people? Only time will tell. At least I know that I and many of the Swedish people will watch From All of Us to All of You with a small tear in our eyes in memory of the good times and experience he has given us.

Rebel

So you might have noticed the climate sumit in Copenhagen at this point. More or less a failure before it ends. And for some reason people are still upset about that. How naive are you to think that this huge question would be settled under this short time? It doesn't help that some of the demostrants seems to take ugly and even proliterating methods to put their will upon us. I might support their idea, but at least I have an understanding for the fact that the world is more complex then they try to tell us. Especially when not the even biggest countries (aka China and the USA) are ready to take some action. That means it's up to Europe and Japan to save the world. During a financial crisis. And a democratic system that means that they have more things to worry aout. Had they been enlightened despots for life, then fine. It would probably work, but they have to be reelected. Democracy is a bitch isn't?

Even funnier when some environmental people begins to speak about a global referendum on climate in 2010. Let see, the Europe consist of 500 millions, USA 300 millions and Japan 100 millions. That's the rich world. almost 0,9 billions out of 6 billions. The people caring about the environment is mostly from this areas. All 0,9 billions are supporting this seen by the climate deniers. The other 5,1 billion peoples? Do they care? Hell no, they want good living standards and some security from the violence around them. They don't care as long they live in hell. If they somehow manage to make that referendum I think they don't would appreciate the outcome. And why the hell do the demonstrators attack the politicians that sit down and try to do something, when the problem lies with the people that elects them? Why aren't you in USA and educate them about the climate and try to convince them instead of destroying our cities, we who are mostly on the case. Why aren't you in China and try talk the people into...oh right, China isn't a democracy but the second biggest polluter of the world. Do something creative instead.

Nice to get that out of my systems. Stupid people. Why so stingy you might ask. Well, my arm hurts. I took the Swine flu vaccine 3 days ago and it appears to be some sort of bruise looking side-effect, nothing more. Take that conspiracy and governmental skeptics. Once again the state protects its citizens from the world around us, far away from the evil market and greedy capitalist, hahaha. *ahem* Yes, I know it exist some greedy politicians as well and for some reasons they appear more in the strongest advocaters against capitalism or on the weaks side. Isn't that interesting.

Back To A Reason

It seems I have a bit hard time to writing in this very dark December month. Always cloudy and cold. You get depressed very easily. Although I usually fixed this problem with a huge intake of chocolate and coke, but it gets expansive, unhealthy and all those things. Can't do that anymore. So I just have to face it without anti-depressive. So what has happened during this long period of radio shadow? Well, the prime minister of Sweden visited the University, I got a picture on my camera, as well as an autograph. Yeah, we political scientist are strange, I know. Anyway, that's pretty much everything that happened of importance. If you don't count that my sister paid a visit so we played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to the Sega Mega Drive on the Wii. And finished it for the first time. It was definitely not worth it. Then we played some (make that a lot) of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, which is the sequel to Tales of Symphonia. And it appeared as a very good game. The voice-acting was nice, but unfortunately some of the old voices from the first game didn't appear on this one, which was kinda sad as their characters were part of the roles. Oh well, you can't get everything.

Tomorrow then it's time for the Spanish test, either it will be a very good test indeed or it will come crashing down. Somehow this statement makes me feel I'm using this blog to vomit on all my test and whatnot. I'm not going to talk politics today cause I don't feel like it, mostly because it seems people are more stupid then ever and maybe it's time for higher education for everyone. I'm already getting upset so we cut it there.

I'm In Love With My Car

I feel the strength coming back to me. Yes, I took the day of and didn't sit at my place at school. I feel like I will not even appear tomorrow until the late Spanish lesson around 18:00. I wonder what the others think with me not appearing for a couple of days. Probably nothing, but with my small craving of recognition of my ego, I would be glad for some remark. Anyway, I was supposed to continue with a thread of thought about last times issue, the Swiss referendum. As I said before, I don't care, it's there country and so on, but I have the right to attack the Swedish commentators I feel are really ignorant about reality, even if they say I don't have any clue about reality, which is true as I'm a theorist in heart and education. That doesn't stop me.

This thought was, what if the Muslims do like they usually did, before they settled for there "own architectural stile" and make the minarets in the shape of clock towers. That is assimilate their culture into the host-culture and thereby go around the rules. Like (I think they did at least) did in old times, they took beautiful Christian churches and copied that architecture into their own. Why not make a huge clock tower. Shape and instrument with just a tiny little room for the "caller of prayers" or whatever it is called. Everyones happy, well except those who didn't even want them to exist, but that would be so simple. Those any holy book describe an iconic religious holy ground or structure? No, so that have been left to the imagination of the worshipers. As long as they don't make it like a post-modern building that just doesn't look like anything. Can't stand that.

Anything else happened this weekend? Yes, the Swedish prime minister is coming to my University next week. That's gonna be pretty interesting. Then I've meet a former Swedish prime minister, minister of law and president of the parliament. And a couple of American politicians. The last news is that the industry in my hometown is going to cancel its production. For some unknown reason. I guess that it has to do with the German HQ having problems. That branch have been very good for years without something any bad signs. So my dad is getting laid of in a two year time as they phase it out. That makes him 53 or something like that. Hopefully we have some better time at the working situation so he can get a job really fast for his last 12 years or so. A fun fact about his job is that he has worked there since I was born, so that makes it 22 years, ending at 24 approximately. So, to end this, globalization is not wrong, just those with money are wrong. In this case Germans, in the Saab case, the Americans. Damn, and I really wanted to get a Saab when I could afford it. Especially this one:

Does it not look sleek, nice and increadably awesome? Unfortunately it will probably not be produced with how it looks at the moment. Called the Saab Aero-X, even its name sound awesome. I probably wouldn't be able to afford it either. Though luck, is it not?

Cold-hearted Woman

OK, so I have pulled myself back to give my view on one of the political things that just appeared in the media this advent Sunday. Yeah, I've not been that active lately as I tried to rush thru the Tales of Symphonia game before my sister comes over next week (which I probably not will be able to clear with a Spanish test in front of me and some other stuff to fix) so that after we finsih Sonic the Hedgehog 2 we can start on Tales of Symphonia to the wii. Sounds like a fun weekend. Anyway, today the Swiss had an referendum about minarets to be or not to be. Luckily I'm not that well know cause otherwise this site will be overrun by demonic acid-spewing, people hating and unintelectual morons from the deepest dark of the woods or farmlands (as said a couple of times before I probably have the same view of people as them, but instead of putting it on outer attributes I look more into the intelectional department). Anyway, I will not say anything about the Swiss it's their country and they will probably be assaulted anyway from others. The morons I like to kick is the Swedish idiots that believe that there thoughts is in majority. God I hate.

They more or less wish that we would have direct democracy (like the Swiss) and use it to put those sort of laws into action. Only time I would let that happened is if we have a constitutional court to make sure that laws that doesn't break human rights can't be taken up to vote. Freedom of Religion, anyone heard about that? And I don't trust the normal populace as they are sometimes f***ing stupid. I'm still upset about the "Swedish system of laundry models" (in an irritating voice). Go and f*** yourself.

Anyway, as you see, I kinda resent those that are intolerant, but the problem in Sweden is that it has gone so far that even if you criticize things that are not OK with immigrants you are labeled a racist unfortunately. To be tolerant you must be able to open your thoughts for discussion but the problem is the double edge swords this have given the "real" racist from the established politicians. More or less I laugh at them as they are so easy to de-construct if you had the knowledge and the will. Once again the established politicians make the big mistakes that pave way for this idiots. After the awkward debate between the leaders of C and Sd the S and C leaders says the reason they fail to make a stand against Sd is that they get emotional. Emotional? The problem here is that they both are womens. And they get emotional? Somehow this goes against all their feminist stands that they are equal to men in anyway. If a woman can't do that, don't send a woman. Send a cold-hearted man with a smug face pokeing holes in the enemies completely disorganized rambles. Theoreticly I could do that, and I'm just a 21-year old academic. Without mediatraining and all the other political stuff.

This was a long ramble, I know. Not very thoughtful and mostly a response about the idiots in Sweden. The Swiss, I don't care. The Swedes, are f***ing idiots. I feel like humanhater overall. Or Misanthropy as the real term is called. Sometimes you must hate something, no one, not even people like Jesus or Mother Theresa can love everyone. They would go insane. Also, all curse words are probably due to too much exposure of That Guy with the Glasses site. That's probably also one of the reasons I don't get to fix Tales of Symphonia till Friday. Have a good time until next time, whenever that is.

Computer God

Connecting system... Status check performed... All System functional... All Systems online...
Welcome to Niklas2.0, we currently experience some difficulties in motivation as time has been constrained for a couple of weeks. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope that it will flow smoothly again in no time. Have a nice day!...
Computer transmission over and connecting onward to The Creator.

Hello everybody (*awkward silence*). I've had a lot on my mind since last time, that is since the 11th of November. What happened afterwards. Friday the 13th I traveled on a train back home for the first time since August. In train car 13th. I really don't like those numbers. Then back to Karlstad where it has been measured to be just 1,1 sun hours in November. And it is constantly raining. As see you can guess I feel a bit depressed. It doesn't help that I got back the Project management test and only got 30 points of 48. It's G and don't get me wrong, I appreciate that I don't have to think about it anymore, but I was so sure that I would make it to a VG around 36 points and this...I probably hyped my knowledge to the max, but it would be nice to have a higher grade then G on some courses (only exception at the moment is Economics that I did fairly well on for some reason). It also felt so easy and it makes it even worse. The weather doesn't help and I can't artificially stimulate my feelings with chocolate as I've cut back on it for 3 weeks at the moment. How high suicide rate did Sweden have again?

When I'm not studying (which I cut back on from 8-16 to 8-13/14) I play Tales of Symphonia and I really need this colorful game to give some light in this dreadful season.

Creator transmission over and redirected toward computer... Computer turning all systems offline and terminating established links... Have a nice day!

9th Of November

Yes, I know it's the 11th today, I just didn't write anything that day as I got other things on my mind. If you wonder the title is taken from the band Victory's song from the album Temples of Gold, highly recomended. And if you didn't know the 9th of November is the day the Berlin Wall fell. For the most parts of the world. The Germans seems to have filled that day with so many historical happenings that they inofficialy call it "the day of fate".

Anyways, I got a haircut today. So it's short again. And what happens when I'm back at the library? It begins to snow. Damn cold. When you really need that large hair reserve to keep one warm, I decided to cut it of. It actually feel nice to have it short again, but you miss the sort of rock feeling that was in the hair. Maybe time to take care of the hair so that I don't cut it of in 6 months.

What am I up to now then with no project management course or any lessons at all except the Spanish ones? Just sitting in the library reading both the statistics and Spanish books. More or less, I don't have a life. Beside that I play some Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube on my Wii. A very good game I have to say, especially the cartoon look with the cell-shading and an excellent voice-cast. It really works compared to like, Baiten Kaitos. That was some awful voice-acting. Good god, it gives me nightmares. It's a good game, but as some reviewer said, "turn the voices of".

Talking about nightmares, the Eurovision Song Contest national contest is beginning to come back to life (if it ever was dead that is). And it hits you with bombshells in the news and everywhere. The biggest thing seems to be that they actually, somehow, got the actor Dolph Lundgren, famed for 2 thing in my world, first playing the russian in Rocky 4 and secondly He-Man in Master of the Universe. That is not the best movies or acting moment in history. Of Course, I just have to see it in Spring to make myself an opinoin. Probably why many other as well will see it, except for those who, godforbid, actually like it.

Forward To Death

It's been a while now , but I have taken some time of for studying to my statistic test that was written today and now we hope it all went well. (Knock on wood) I gonna say it went pretty well, I hope. It didn't feel impossible so I really would appreciate if I could get that out of way. Especially since this was the part of the test I usually had a better point average then the other questions. Anything else? Oh, the studying didn't go that well. The last 3 days I've cut short as I've been to tired to do anything else and yesterday it even was a celebration for the "faddrarna", you know those who took care of the freshmans? Yeah, it's not really advised to take part in an alcoholic experice the day before a test, it's customary taken afterwards. Nothing could be done so it wa nothing else to do. And I was first on place. No surprise there. I actually beat my recoord with a long-shot. I walked past 1 hour before they opened. Me and time is not that great riends when I have 3 different times written on scribblets of papers in my calender.

No harms done as I actually lived 2 minutes from the place. But I was first no matter what the other says. How did the evening go? Fine for me, but someone was denied to purchases in the bar, someone wrecked the restroom and I don't know what. And I'm sitting there with a maximum of 2 ciders in my body and more or less analyzed the whole situation. Am I bitter for having a statistic test day afterwards? You bet I am! All well which ends well.

And now for the historical fun facts. Yesterday, the 6th of November is the death day of Gustav II Adolf, or Gustavus Adolphus the Great (the only Swedish king bestowed by that honor). The man in charge of Sweden bringing death and chaos unto the European mainland with our crushing army and carvings Sweden's path as a warrior nation for the next 100 years. Funny to think about today when the army is being bantered into nothing. And why do celebrate his death day? I have no idea but apparently it is tradition to have a chocolate pastry for that day. Mmm...how I long for some chocolate. How did he die? Getting lost in the fog in a crucial battle and getting to close to the enemy. The fog was not his only problem as he actually had problems to see. He really needed glasses.

Wind Of Change

So it is finally done. The Lisbon treaty has been ratified and we can finally move on. You can still wonder why the Czech President waited so long before signing it and from me the simple answer would be to make a point in the Czech Republic. He is now probably seen as the leader that see's the best for his own country as well as being seen as a martyr for being forced to cave in by the other European leaders. But now it's over and all countries that want to leave can do it, but forget the single market, the law system and...oh, just watch this video:

As those who have read this blog probably knows I'm a huge fan of the EU and this probably clear the questions (if there ever was any). Of course, I can't help but notice that some people hellishly fears and hates the European Union and call it undemocratic. Fair enough, it has it's problems and the democratic support could have been better, but again who is to blame here that people don't vote in the democratic elections actually held every 5th year? Of course I've already blamed our politicians for not taking it out to the people, but there is also something called two-way communication, the people ask the politicians for answer on certain subjects. On the other hand when the people do we get this result. You also know my view on education. Also, I hope the skeptics actually have read the Lisbon treaty for now they have a chance of a lifetime to leave the EU with the support of their "democratic" people after a round in their respective parliament. And they thought they would lose their sovereignty. Best thing is that they can't blame the EU as it is up to their own politicians to follow (or lead) their people. God I love this.

Riot

Watching the Police Academy film, nr 1 and even though it's very amusing, I have a hard time to figure out why the people rioted in the end. Maybe I'm just naive and completely formed by the society I live in, but I have a hard time understanding the need for rioting or to destroy property just for kicks. Of course we have riots here as well, mostly political demonstrations that gets out of hands, most infamously the 2001 Gothemburg Riots. There is recently some social unrest riots in different parts of Sweden, but some of them is instigated by political minority groups of bored rich kids who doesn't have anything else to do. Yes, I despise those people as much as those they are fighting against.

Of course it's not only in these situations I have a hard time to understand why people goes that far. During the beginning of the financial crisis there was some French labor unions that locked in the small CEO:s of the local factories and demanded the HQ to not stop production. I might not be the sharpest economies in the world, but I don't think that's how it works. And don't get me started on the "French farmers" phenomena lately when the farmers demonstrates with blocking roads and dumping all there goods in the street. Me and my friends have a huge dislike for this behavior. We DON'T get it! Once when we discussed global warming and mentioned that Sweden would be very favorable as the farming and forest growth would rise compared to everything southern of Sweden as that would whiter and die in the heat one of my friend uttered that "we then at least got rid of the French farmers" (I humbly apologize to any French farmer reading this, but then we would at least not need to spend money on the subsidiaries on farming).

Also it's the spookiest time of the year which we imported from the Catholics first and then on top of that an American custom that they imported from the Irish Celts. Back home we used to watch the Bugs Bunny special on VHS. Or some thriller/horror movie just to get in the mood (and then a couple of years my sister had a Halloween party for her classmates). But the best Halloween themed film/series/episode to see is the Charlie Brown episode. The idea of the Great pumpkin and lines like "I got a rock" are forever memorable. Unfortunately there is not much to see on the TV at the moment with only one channel sending a horror movie (which I believe was reviewed somewhere and mocked rather hard), and getting to classics after midnight with movies like Omen (I hope it's that one and not the other)but I'm not a fan of being up that late. Otherwise it's just comedies. Which means that I have to get my kicks on my own by taking a trip to the dark side.

Mother Gaia

Today has been kinda funny, if you don't count the fact that I spent most of the day in the library studying for the damn statistic test next week. Besides that, I had a funny experience while bored watching out of the windows. I got hungry so I thought what sort of food I would serve myself during the weekend. Tacos sounded nice I thought, but I thought on cutting down on the cola as you can't eat tacos without cola so pushed the decision on to the future and decided to go and eat at the cafeteria. And what do they serve today? Tacos. The probability for that can't be that high. So that solved my problem, except that I need to think of something else to fix together. And I really need to cut the chocolate.

Apparently someone has chartered the candy consumption in Sweden and declared that we eat roughly 17 kilos compared to the European average of 7 kilos. Thanks a lot for giving all the Swedes bad feelings for tomorrow when it's Halloween. Of course there is always them who either say that statistics can't be trusted as the Norwegians have a tendencies to cross the border for some cheap candy (I don't now about this, I'm just paraphrasing) and then those who claim that we shall put candy under monopoly. Even I who support most of the current monopolies don't think that's a very good idea.

Oh, and I remember the thing I forget last time. I did a "home-run" on my Ipod! What do you mean I wasted your time for two days? That doesn't happen that often, not with almost 4000 songs on them, in short consisting of 13 days of non-stop music. Usually I just have to reload the Ipod after 1600 songs and then the count is broken and I have to restart, but now I skipped most of the songs and reached the end and began a new cycle. Yes, I could have used the time the library to study instead of shuffle through my Ipod, why do you ask?

And lastly, I watched the news on SVT1 when they talked about Global Warming and that Russia is 15 years behind us in the discussion or something like that, and then they mention Siberia. Apparently there are huge areas of gas frozen under the permafrost there and as the Russian scientist said is a ticking bomb if it gets warmer. Is that not coincidental with today marking the anniversary of the Tsar Bomba test? The Russians sure must show that they have the biggest guns after US testing the biggest conventional bomb in history, but do they stop there? No, the Russians take it up to 11 by getting the largest "natural" bomb ever created without the help of human (some would probably say we indirectly did it). Nature hate us so much.

Memory

There something I forgot yesterday to write down and now it's gone from my mind. No, it wasn't about chocolate. Hmm...anyway the test is now over and it feels good. 100 % sure that I don't have to redo this, but a bit unsure about the fact if it is G or VG. It will be stumbling on the VG line and that will be the only interesting thing for a while now. Except the statistic test next week, boy I hate that. Let us pray for a better result this time.

Was it about politics? No, can't remember. And what happens around the political arena? Nothing. Same boring parties without any vision more then jobs. Seriously, we need a vision to go for. The vision justifies the means or something like that. Other things is that the youth (which I probably belong to, I'm not entirely sure) wants more influence and the old ones is hogging it up and look down on "the 80's generation" and say that we are lazy and self-absorbed and such. Excuse me for asking but how can they already define us as a group when people like me haven't even proven themself for being locked in the educational system? How can they judge us like that? Of course, even I have those stereotypes on some of the 80's but still. Haven't I talked about this before? Memories getting short it seems.

Megalomania

Test tomorrow, and hopefully it goes better then the statistic course that happens to have a test next week. Yeah, how fun. What have I gotten myself into. It's so much more fun dealing with political science. Speaking of which, a political scientist (in this article referred to as a historian for some reason) has proposed the idea that the 5 Nordic Countries should join together as a federation/confederation to be a heavier voice in the world. It somehow sound familiar, I can't put my finger on it...oh, now I remember. I wrote about it some time ago. Of course mine was a bit more undemocratic and meant something like the total subjugation of the Nordic Countries and it's neighbors with the capital being Stockholm. Just for fun of course, I'm to nice to actually be a dictator/emperor/king and rule over some people (some would say to weak, but I like to see it positively). Then on the other hand, power corrupts.

What would I do with such powers? I don't know? Which country is the best chocolate producers? Belgium, Switzerland and France? Alright then, we invade them and get a steady supply of chocolate, a healthy economy based on war industries and no unemployment. And the best part is that I get all chocolate. Mmm...Marabou. I guess that company would be my crown-jewel and be the only one to produce its products. Of course I probably would end up like Charles X Gustaf in size and most likely die by the same age of 37. It's not a very glorious end, and there will probably not be a lot of imperial regalia left like the Romanov eggs and such. Mine would be of chocolate and melt away. As you see, I would be passed into the history books as one of the weirdest rulers in the history of mankind, probably dubbed the chocolate king. And I would probably smile in my grave for that, or make that a tomb so I fit in a sarcophagus.

Do You Know

So it's one more day before the test in project management. All well so far. The old tests feels not impossible and I might as well make it pretty good. Of course I have said it before like in the statistic course (bloody *******). On the other hand I think I know what the problem might be, I don't describe enough why I use the calculation that answers the question. Of course this is a constant problem seen in other tests as well where I might be satisfied with 1 sentence as an answer to a question. It's enough but I surely miss out on those small details that awards you with extra point. I guess it's from the fact that I prefer large brushes of information that small nitpicking touches on a painting. The advantage is that I have a vast knowledge about many things and can use it in association with other areas.

Of course it's deeply flawed in a debate with someone that really knows his/her stuff around this, but seen by the latest "wikipedia knowledge" around todays people I think I might go far. And you can always fake a higher degree of knowing. Yes, I can do that sometimes, until someone challenges me. Then I get really confused and don't know in our out and then the illusion falls and the magician is brought out into the light to be judged. And usually I'm at fault here. Somehow I once got confused over who was who in Led Zeppelin. And that's Led Zeppelin with just 4-5 members, compared to Black Sabbath with 25. Hope that doesn' affect my ability to write the test on Wednesday.

No, I'm not high on chocolate while writing this, why do you ask? Actually that's a funny story as last Friday we had a discussion if it was called a chocolate or an chocolate (in Swedish of course meaning if it was "ett choklad eller en choklad"). What do you mean I could have spent my time better in the library then discussing chocolate for 2 hours? Don't say it like that! I need some chocolate and...they close at 9 p.m and it's 10 p.m now? Damn you. I just have to start with coffee again.

Culture Killed The Native

Funny thing when I went to the store, they had redecorated it. It shocked me a bit actually and...why do you want to know what I bought there? That's none of your business! Alright, alright, I bought some chocolate, are you happy now? I know I'm weak, okey *sob*. I have a hard time with all the tests and whatnot, and it's f***ing dark here and overall depressing. *Sob*

Ahem, we move on. The last couple of days have seemed to stir a hornets nest with the Sd article I mentioned last time. Red shirts from their party seems to have overrun the news sites and commenting on all articles with any hint to further there goals. Those often proves there lack of knowledge in many fields. There was some debate about foreign aid and the usual Sd supporters show up claiming that Sweden made it from a poor back-ward economy in the 1870 to one of the top 10 richest in 1970 (before the oil-crisis I believe) without a single cent/pence/öre from anyone. No matter that the early 1900-centuary meant food-relief aid from Argentina and that we were participant in the marshall aid from the US after WW2 without being directly involved in the war. Now I get a smug face on me for more or less trashing that argument (yeah, I can be quite a jerk in these kind of situations). Would our politicians be able to answer that in a live discussion? I hope so, otherwise I will be very freightened.

Coincidence of the day is that I stumbled upon a debate about owning guns and now they are showing a film about a case against guns or whatever. Of course I'm very biased in this question for being European and Swede foremost. I don't see the need for owning a gun or weapon of any kind (unless for sport and hunting as I can accept). Some would probably call me naive as people can't always be trusted. And I swallow the argument that if you restrict the amount and availability of guns you decline the violence in society. Now for the most theoretical and philosophical answer to way this is. The need for owning a gun only exist if you feel unsafe. In the old contracts theories only one force in society was allowed to own weapons, the state so it could protect it's citizens from themselves and other states, particular in Hobbes ideas of the state, kinda fascist but some of them makes sense. Being a follower of more democratic ideas that have been inspired by Hobbes like Locke, I prefer that guns only lies in the hand of the state.

Of course no American can believe this, but that's because we have different cultures. As described to me the Americans have built there whole country on the idea that governments can't be trusted by experience of the colonial rule of England and that most settlers fled from oppressing regimes back in Europe, therefore the 2nd amendment to own guns so that they could defend themselves once again. In Sweden we trust our government out of experience of the King in the old days ruling with the support of the farmers and the low-aristocracy against the high-aristocracy, saving them from serfdom and from enemies like catholics, Polish, Danish and Russians (supported by the fact that the "evil" aristocracy was kinda idiotic and sellouts for money) and then during our democratic state it took care of us in the welfare systems and kept us out of wars in almost 200 years. That trust is diminishing now to some healthy level of questioning if there is no other way than the way of the state, but we are far from the open distrust shown in the American society.

Of course there are nut cases here as well like some conspiracy theorist that believe the Swedish government is out to get us, you know like in the American movies where the state kill anyone against it (*irony on* I blame the American culture for spreading state distrust out in the world *irony off*). Especially in these flu times, where we are gonna be injected with mercury that kill us, which is equal to the amount we get from a portion of fish from the Baltic. Have I taken it? No, I wait until I'm being summoned...when it finally gets here, in this pace the flu will be over until we get the damn vaccine over here.

Starbucks Is Coming To Town

In the age of wonder it finally happens. Starbucks is on its way to Sweden! It's time for a cafe mocha with whipped-cream and some nice bakery and/or breakfast. I haven't had a Starbucks coffee since last year and I really misses it. I had some complaining about it not being in Sweden (the link is written in Swedish) when I was in Washington. More specifically Sweden, Norway and Finland, the heaviest coffee drinker nations don't have Starbucks. Russia and Romania has it, but not most of the Nordic countries (Denmark doesn't cont). Of course the victory is a small one as it is limited to the largest Swedish Airport in Stockholm, Arlanda, which is 30 European miles from Stockholm, so I will probably not spend most of my time there. Maybe I shall move to Stockholm after graduating like everyone else around me?

Oh, you want to know the political landscape in Sweden at the moment? I didn't think so, but you get it anyway. The small extreme right-wing party has published an article claiming that Muslims is the greatest threat since the 2nd WW (and I guess he means from Sweden's point of view). Yeah, the war which we stayed out with by selling ore to Germany and creating a political government consisting of all political parties except the communist (the left party, for being to close to the Soviets) and more or less caving in to the demands from the different sides depending on how the war went. Good analogy there. Especially since that what we are doing now according to him Yeah, great knowledge there. And I don't want any Sd supporters spaming me now since I frankly don't care what you think. Especially since none of you has proven to stand on equal grounds with education. In particular that person who first says "I'm an Sd supporter, but I'm not a racist" and then says that they are supporting a culture exchange and gives the example of "what Sweden has contributed to the world" (or something like that).

*Sarcasm mode on* Really good example, very good. Culture imperialism from Sweden. Great. *Sarcasm mode of*. As most people can see, I don't fancy these people. Mostly because they don't fulfill my standard of a minimum education and once again I say any person with some standard education should be able to debate with them and sink them to the floor. And as usual the politicians lay down flat before them giving walk-over. Why don't I take the fight you might ask? I'm a notorious coward and have some compulsion disorder of some kind and prefer to surf thru life. And I'm proud of it! I need a Starbucks coffee.

Bad Moon Rising

I got out the statistics test and what do you know, I got a + on one question. So that means I'm quite good with binomial statistic. I think I got the + due to me spending 15 minutes calculating 23 numbers and summarize them instead of using some formula I never understood. Unfortunately it didn't help me much as I now have to do 2 more test (at least) and the first one is the day after SVIK:s "Tacksittning". Bad timing indeed. Either I keep myself away from the alcohol and try to have so much fun as possible and go to bed early so I can do the test or I play along as long I can take and do the test not so sober. Negative side is that I will probably take longer time to make it (if I even can get out of bed) and there really is no positive unless that it might help me understand the questions (in the political science courses they even suggest that if you don't understand take a glass of wine, preferably red). Then again there is always a redo for the test, but only one unique party. Choices, choices, what to do, what to do. Looks like troubles is on the way.

Astronomy

Sometimes it's funny to read the horoscopes of the day, especially those that are written so that everyone in Sweden shall feel like it means especially them. And most of us know that it is completely humbug. And still we read them. It gets even better. Todays horoscope for the Capricorn in the Swedish Metro is:

One or more things might not go your way and your mode might not be the best!

In the morning that is completely preposterous, me who is always glad with a smile on my face. What could go wrong? Lunch and my phone rings. I didn't get to work with the job fair. Almost expected. So I thought it was kinda funny with the horoscope and such so I more or less forgot about it. Got home and after a couple of hours I watch if the results of the Statistic test had been posted. It had. 35 points! One (1) point better then last time. I don't know if I'm gonna laugh or cry. And to be truthful, if I had been around people at this moment I would probably not be a nice person to be with. I think I shall play some Metal Gear Solid 4. Just to use up some adrenaline.

So there you have it. A very accurate horoscope of my day today. So this weekend will be used to take appropriate action and think of some strategies to mash this information into my brain and at the same time handle a project management test in 2 weeks and a Spanish test in December. Seems like my planed half-time studies in November has to be canceled. At least the problem with being bored is solved.

King Of The Hill

Been a while again since last time. Can't help it, been a bit busy with the project management course which we have soon completed. It's just gluethe whole thing together and send it in before Tuesday. No problem at all. Been very fun actually. I actually realised I still remember what I've learnet in excel some 5 years ago in high school. Very fun to make diagrams and whatnot, when it works that is. It gets kinda annoying when it doesn't work the way you want.

Speaking of annoying we had to sit next-door to some really annoying girls that apparently had super-hearing. 2 times 1 of them came over to us and complained that we were a bit loud. Of course she didn't have the decency to knock before entering and kinda rudely tell us to be a bit quieter. Now I might sound a bit arrogant, but it was the 4th floor which means that it isn't a silent floor. That's what floor 1 and the special rooms at floor 2-3 are for. These rooms we sat in was for group studies. And what did they do in their? Sat and read a book, completely silent. Give me a break. Read the f***ing description besides the door for the location of the silent rooms please. Those rooms are to take the discussions away from the others out in the library. And be more polite next time. I swear every time we saw them from then on we just wanted to puke. Arrogant little... How good ears did they have? Normal discusions are not hear over and a little higher gives a mumble thru the wall (at least that's what we heard from the room on the other side, need to check the isolation). Maybe if they had used it for discussion you wouldn't have heard it. Yes, I'm a bit annoyed.

Actually I think this is one reason why our group probably didn't fall into a chaotic argument. We have done this very quickly and allways stood on good terms with each others, but we have worked maybe 4 hours a week on this project beside the lessons. Not enough time to build up tension which have keept us on track. And now we spent some 6 hour constant together. Maybe we now projected all this hidden tension upon these annoying persons none of us knew. It's an interesting idea to think about. Oh, and the best part of today beside my very beautiful diagram and Gantt-scheme was that the freshman came to me for some answers. God it feels good to be king of the hill. Unfourtunatly I couldn't answer so I had to wikipedia the asnwer. Damn, I don't like it when I don't know things. I like to know everything (with some exceptions, something you don't want to know).

Be Quick Or Be Dead

Another week and I'm still surprised by the end of the Thundersub series. They killed of the bad guy OF SCREEN! What were they thinking? Why not make an English version of it? Completely insane. It was not even a spectacular death to begin with, but it did at least tie all the loose ends. Actually, the whole evil alien race is kinda fantastic. Ruled by a military scientist that promised to save their culture from a black hole and assumed a dictatorship position to finish a giant satellite they would use to travel the universe. There whole culture is amazing. Purple and black structures with colorful blinking something. There military forces consists mostly with air/space ships in green or red together with fast-speeding ships in water. There Earth-Governor palace has the shape of some gigantic bug (guessing a mantis) and other technology feats they have excelled in, especially in warfare. The only thing I don't understand is why they changed ships from the green, (in my opinion) much cooler ships that seemed to be much more agile and be able to land everywhere (with both bombing and direct attack capabilities) compared to the much more slower red ships. And the green ones just disappeared after the first episode without a single notice even though it was does ships that conquered the whole solar system within an hour (and now we are talking fast, but I'm guessing that's some sort of misunderstanding from the translators).

Other things that happens is that it is a little more than 2 weeks left to the test in project management. I need to start studying for real on that. I have soon finished reading all the books once but I guess more needs to be done. It would be good to excel in some other subjects then Economics (that isn't even my major). And then it's the Spanish. Not impossible, but I like to focus on one thing at the time (things really have changed since high school when you could had all subjects at once) and sadly it's neglected as the test for that isn't until December. And that leaves me somewhere around 1 ½ month to focus on just that (if nothing else comes in the way of course, but that would probably not be a problem).

On A Storyteller's Night

Wow, the week just ended. Where did it go. Here it was Wednesday and I had finished a set of laundry and decided to see the Thundersub dvd's even though I had set myself to wait for Friday. And it was amazing but at the same time I understand why no-one have tried to redistribute this series. It has a couple of flaws. Sometimes the character just "warps" from one point to another, the dialog could have been a bit better and the story didn't have time to fully grow. This is actually the biggest flaw. I don't know if my reading of the TV Tropes website has ruined my life but most of the plotpoints I could see miles ahead (maybe I snapped it up reading some site as well, but it was pretty obvious sometimes) and some where just thrown in wothout thought (combined with the foreshadowing). You can usually go after the death in the limelight phenomena. The worst point was when one of the ace-pilots got to meet his parents, he is then asigned to an operation that doesn't go with the main cast. The main cast saves the day and when they get back they here this conversation:

HQ: Congratulations! You have saved the world.
Everyone: Yeah.
HQ: Unfortunately, your friend was killed of screen.

Then we see a flashback with someone retelling what happens. I guess they would have made that one episode in itself if they had time. Other things they do is showing someone in a dangerous situation, cut, "S/he is dead?" conversation beginning and someone explains how they died. Needed definitely more time. Also they didn't record the 23ed (of 24) episode in English which gives some loose ends if you don't watch that episode. Especially since they kill of the series big bad in it. At least that's everything I can make out just watching the episode couse I don't understand a single word of Japanese.

That lasted until yesterday when I began playing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots. Another cinematic experience. Hideo Kojima is famous for his long, dramatic cut scenes that compose most of the game. It's more like a 10 hour spy-movie with sci-fi elements and conspiracy theories over the top. Very good story, great voice-actors and I like the throw-backs to the rest of the series. Also the fourth-wall breaking is greatly humorous at points. When the director himself puts himself in the credits as the "voice of God" you can't do anything else then laugh. But to be clear, I would prefer to put it under the category "interactive movie" as that's what it is.

Where Eagles Dare

It's here, it's finally here. In my hand lays a childhood memory and at the same time a new experience that I never seen before. My friends, it's:

Thundersub

The first part of the series (the 2-hour pilot episode) I've already seen and I can finally see the whole show. Unfortunately it's Monday so I thought I maybe can see the first DVD but no. My sister calls me and have a 2 hour call that she has to move up the date she was supposed to pay a visit. That and a lot more you can tell by the long talk. The worst thing is that my parents apparently gave her some movies like Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes, movies that I highly enjoy without my parents even tell me. She didn't even like Where Eagles Dare. Highly unfair I must say. Maybe I can see the series tomorrow? No, Spanish until 21:00. Al right, fair, Wednesday then? Need to do the laundry. Dammit, how about Thursday? Need to clean the apartment. Son of a ...!

So I probably have to wait until Friday before I can watch it, unless something unexpectedly happens. So I probably need to prepare the coming weekend. Some chips and dip, coca-cola, some food that are good and easy to cook (at the moment I'm thinking of hamburgers). Anyway, it will just be me, my TV and PS3 enjoying those DVD's. And chocolate, can't forget the chocolate. Mmm...Marabou. Good thing about that is that I have the whole weekend to watch it and then gloat when my parents call me at Sunday so I can get some answers to way in hell my sisters get parts of the Clint Eastwood collection. She doesn't even appreciate them the way I do. Of course she said I could get Where Eagles Dare but they didn't even ask me. I bet this is a revenge plan from her side when I was able to snatch my sunglasses right in front of her all those years ago. Finders keepers you know.

Money And Fame

Those people at the CSN can really scare you out of your mind. Here I am minding my own businesses and suddenly I get a note that they have made a decision. A decision in the middle of the semester? Now what can that be? Of course my mind goes high wire and begin to conjure up the most horrible scenario that can happened. Need to payback for some reason, the funding stops for another and so on. So what is it? The CSN has recalculated the amount of money I'm entitle to after the government has decided to heighten the student support. That is for the 1 month in January they pay out. They could probably have handled it a little more subtle.

So what have I done this weekend? I could have studied or done something useful but what happened? I stumbled upon this website. Yes, I've been reading comics all weekend. Especially the Don Rosa comics with Scrooge McDuck. Mostly because I've read them when I was little, but only now understood the whole picture of. They are actually much funnier in English (or maybe they are equal but it was such a long time ago I read some of them and at that time I didn't understood all the subtle hints all over the stories). Of course, you could always claim I've learned something from them. They are filled with mythological myths, historical sites and historical events, all to enchant my mind and leave me floating in a ecstasy of childhood. Tales of Southern American Indians, The Knights Templar and some of the saddest moments in such a colorful world. The Scandinavian countries overall are huge fans of Donald Duck Cartoons and especially the Finnish like the Don Rosa comics so that he even made a comic set in Finland.

To turn this to my actual subject in school, political scientist, there actually exist a Donald Duck Party in Sweden. And who said politics was boring?

Losing My Insanity

What a day, what a day. Woke up very early to fix myself up for an interview. That's right, I had an interview for some work. In this case the group that arranges the job-fair this spring. So up early to fix the damn hair of my. And it' didn't turn out good. Not in a long shot. It took me 12 hours o get it "good". And the interview was 5 hours earlier. Of course that happened after I got home. Hopefully it went well and I got a part of it. Would be nice to test ones new found knowledge from the project management course on a real thing. Of course if I don't get it I could always go over to plan B or C. Get a drivers license or maybe join some political party. It's not easy to plan for 3 months without any courses. Or I could just study spanish and hopefully become fluent in it, but that would probably drive me insane before Christmas.

Talking about going insane, I almost had a nervous breakdown waiting for the interview. Being in school since 8:00 and waiting until 13:00. What was I supposed to do? I brought my Spanish literature and thought that I should study that, but instead I began to plan my interview. With that I meant possible questions and deciding possible ways to put forward my usefulness for the position. And thinking upon my hair. Bad hair day indeed. Anyway, I can't get back to the Spanish books so I just go thru the damn interview over and over again. And then it takes 10 minutes with the interviewers and then its over. I have felt nauseated for several hours and it's over in 10 minutes? And was I prepared for the questions? Hell no, first question is tell us about yourself. Blank. Nothing. After 5 seconds I can only spew out my University education and place of birth. That's who I am. I still can't think of any better answer for that question. Well, 2 weeks until it's announced if I will be in our not, or at maximum 2 weeks.

Burning Bridges

Today is such a day you can say everything is just perfect. Even though we had a whole day class, 8:15 - 17:00. I have not had so much fun for a long time. The task of today was to build a bridge. So that was what we did. We got assigned to different groups the teachers had constructed before the class and we were at it. We came up with the most interesting design for the project, we researched a lot, we were at the top of inventing a new sort of architectural design for bridges. The result was as follows:

It's a traffic accident. Suddenly it just looked like this. It just appeared out of nowhere and we didn't reflect on it until it was 5 minutes left and we had to quickly finish it. Never have I laught so hard when we were done. See the conceptual design of the pillars representing the Freemasons and the colors of the red and green representing the fire and earth that is interpreted as metalworking. We didn't make it justice. At least we had fun in our group. And I still think we should have won the design part. People are just not ready for our new way of thinking.

The good thing about it is that ever since I came home Ive been in a good mood, smiling at what happened and have high spirits. I'm gonna live on this for a long time. Had we been able to push this true and perfect it for another hour we would have had the best bridge there is. Stable, trustworthy and a design marvel...if we only had changed the colors.

Silence, Storm and Sunrise

A new week, a new beginning. Still the same spot in the library. At least for half the day, afterwards it was work with the project management group. Until 15:00 that is when it was time for the program evalouation for the 4th year students, meaning only me as the others are either in Stockholm studying for a master and therefore left the program or at an internship here and there. in Sweden and Europe So for the 1 hour planned for this event it only took 15 minutes. And then back to the project. Actually it was interesting to talk about the program as it actually made me reflect on the 4 years at the university and what Ive actually learnt from it.

First thing to say is that I really liked the program as I found very interesting and stimulating. I have now experienced who I really am and have a small clue on where to go with my life. The only problem as I see it was the fact that it doesn't have much connection toward the professions that a political scientist could have. Of course they changed it now and brought in some visits to the local municipalities. A bit too late for me, but I will probably manage. I have a very optimistic view on the future, but the question is what I'm supposed to do after the spring. Shall I find a job when the unemployment is supposed to reach 10-11 % or shall I continue and study 2 more years for a master? Being as young as me I will probably have no problem with either alternative. Let see, 22 next year and with 2 more I would be 24, not bad. High educated and hopefully some other things around me to support my academic credentials, you know, real working experience. Then something like 40 years work and then pension. Sounds like a plan, unfortunately I would have to change University as they don't (at the moment) support master courses in political science. I grown accustomed to Karlstad, even though it rains every day in the summer or some other weather phenomena that is not sunny. It even hails at the moment together with thunderstorms (or something that sounds like it).

Days of Future Passed

Talk about lazy day. Nothing has been done. After the releasing feeling after having made the statistic test it feels good to let the mind rest. And now it's a maximum of 3 weeks thrilling wait to see if I (god forbid) have to redo it one more time. We don't want that I tell you. Unfortunately I can't take any free times from the library this week...or the next and onward if you get the drift. 3 weeks with just statistic has let me slip the other courses a bit so I have to take some measures to get in line. Good thing I have tomorrow morning, whole Tuesday, Thursday morning and the whole Friday to dig into the pile of literatures that has stacked themselves on top of each other during these weeks. So Fun!

The Germans have gone to election and listen to this, this election was talked about for a week in the Swedish media. It was actually talked about, my god it even got more news than the Swedish church election. Not the coverage like the American election thank god, but something more could have been made. More analyzes over what the outcomes could have for consequences for Sweden. Germany is the largest and richest country in the EU and our neighbor. It must mean something for us who sits in Berlin (of course everyone knew it was gonna be Angela Merkel, but who would be with her?).

I'm a little curious about the 4 last years in German politics as the biggest parties that usual opposing each other joined together. I haven't hide my preferences for a Fp and S coalition (with Mp and C if it's absolutely necessary). And they used to be the big opposing parties (until Fp somehow became second fiddler first to C and then to M). Well we have to wait till next year and we see where we stand our selves with a new Riksdag with maybe 1 or 2 new parties and maybe even some old ones failing to reach the 4 % voter line. By looking at the countries around us we can't make anything out anyway. Norway is a green-red coalition, Germany seems to be a an liberal-conservative coalition, Finland is going to election in 2011 and Denmark seems to not have a set next election date (they had their election 1 year after us and keept their right-wing party). Last election the political scientist said that during the good times when the economy is strong you don't cange government and then both Norway and Sweden changed government, they to the red-green coalition and we to our center-blue government. That alone would have been a sign that the recession would come, we only have blue governments when theire is problems in the economy. 76-82 (the first real crisis in Sweden since the 2:nd world war with the oilmonopoly), 91-94 during the largest crisis in Swedish history since the 30's and now again since 2006. The question is, will they sit 4 more years making themselves historical? We shall see.

Seven Days Without You Makes One Weak

It's over once more, the statistic test has been calculated and returned in. And how do I feel about? Could go anyhow really. In my most optimistic view (and that's really optimistic) I would get around 67-72 points (that's a VG) and in my more pessimistic view (not that pessimistic actually) I would land somewhere between 37-42 (that's either U or G). All depends on what they are giving points at and if I understood the question correct. The first question felt very simple and I suspect that I misinterpreted it and the same goes for the last question since I got a number out of it that doesn't feel that out of place but I have no clue if that was how I was supposed to get the number in the first place. So those are like either max point 10 or utter failure 0. If I get X>40 then I'm happy, but it would feel nice with 60. Then it only proves that to fix a mathematic test our either need to be a number genius or you just have to be lucky enough to get the right questions.

Anyway, to let all my anguish just leave my body I'm at the moment stuffing myself with dark chocolate ice-cream and Marabou chocolate and coke. Yeah, one week without anything and now I'm partaking in something that can only be described as a chocolate orgy. I'm weak.

Nothing else happens. Oh, and if any one wonders, yes, I still have to be in the library 8-16 every day to speed up the other courses I've taken but neglected studying to the statistic test. At least I won't have time to have this lazy after test week and degrade myself even more. One last thing about the statistic test. This morning I woke up at 7 to get ready and really wake up before the test at 9. What's on the TV? A show portraying someone that has a mental breakdown while studying...you guessed it:

Statistics

Isn't life fun. It ended with that the character threw down all the books in a trashcan and lit it on fire. Like what I'm feeling at the moment as well. Unfortunately it seemed like the whole house was going to burn down and the "to be continued" turned up. I'm not gonna stay tuned in for that but the irony in it is kinda astonishing. Karma I tell you, just plain karma. If I fail this test that will probably be my reaction as well.

Karma

The day after the biggest event of the year. This bloggs 100th post. Of course how much I wanted to spend the might partying away and rid myself of all worries I still have my test on Saturday. It feels like it can go anyway. I have no confidence what so ever that I will shine like a statistical know-it-all, which was the impression when I started the course. It seemed easy and if I had stuck to my original plan I might have. BUT NO, I had to spend my summer with playing video-games, escaping into fantasy worlds beyond my imagination and then watch gruesome murder shows at the TV. Karma is a bitch.

If the TV-shows wasn't enough, now the news seems more like an American action-movie. Helicopters and bombs? Maybe the next Beck-movie will be inspired by this. Still it doesn't feel like it happened. To unlikely to be true is the first comment that enters my mind. Maybe this is an effect of to much American series and movies. The real world seems to unlikely to happen. The interesting thing is that it is easier to distinct fiction from reality, but not the other way around. A paradox when the moralist claims that the fictional mediums are damaging and sucking in our youth in fantasy world. It's the opposite, the real world is to imaginative to be real.

So, is there anything else then spewing my disdain for the statistic test or do I actually have anything interesting to say? No. Probably not.

100 Miles

We have reached number 100! An applaud to myself for...actually just give me applaud for keeping this up. The small pieces of myself and thoughts I plant in all these post are just a big puzzle for the readers to understand me. Of course some pieces are probably dated as we all develop and I might as well have changed opinions and then again some are just ironic comments on society so have fun to figure that out. And now for something completly different:

I miss my old coursemates. It's not as fun anymore sitting in the library without their spot-on observations on the world around us. The discussions that followed could be anything between heaven and hell but they were interesting. The problem could also be that the statistic test on Saturday makes my life miserable at the moment and therefore not acknowledge the brilliance of the younger generation of political scientists. I guess that's the biggest problem. At least it's over on Saturday and my god I don't want to do that again. Why in god's name did I take this course, or even better, why didn't I study during the summer with ample oppurtunities. Lazyness just don't pay of and put you in debt instead.

I didn't cover the results from the church election. Frankly I don't actually care as seen by earler posts. I had more important stuff to do, like spending most of my time at the library reading and calculating. 8-16 ever day with occasional 17 or 18 as well. Except on Tuesday when I go home at a whopping 20:40. Of course that's because the spanish course but still. I could practicaly move in there with the amount of time I spend there. When I get some money I surely will donate some to the library so they can put up a sign that reads:

"Here studied Niklas Andersson, a political scientist that for some reason deceided to study statistics. He regretted that decision EVERY day!

Yeah, I really don't like this test. It should also be placed at my seat. Yeah, "my seat". When you spend most of your time there it should be classified as my seat. Some bastard actually took my seat the day before yesterday so I had to relocate my studie place. I can't have been in the library often as I have been on that same place for 2-3 weeks now. You think people learn after a while. It feels kinda pathetic when I think about it now.

Disturbing The Priest

Voted for the the church election today. And I still question what I voted for. I don't know. First of there was four instances to vote for. FOUR. The national elections usually have three instances, local, regional and national. Here there was four and I only voted on three on them. When they pointed it out I just said "I don't care". Which is actually true, I don't care one bit about this election, but I had to vote anyway as I justify their existence as I believe they do a good job with preserving the churches. And with that I accept there existence and can't use my loophole for other things I don't care for. The most interesting thing is that the only ones that propose a very good solution for the problem with the church overall is the Humanist movement that is secular in an debate article at Newsmill. Isn't that like going to Satan for salvation or something like that?

I don't support all seven points they propose, especially point 5 and 6. Nr 5 is that you constantly need to approve that you are a member of the Swedish church. I understand the purpose but the proposed idea that the church should send out letters that you have to answer to confirm it would be just a waist of natural resources and use the money the church get to wrong cause. Also to let children stand outside religious communities and wait until 16-18 when they are old enough to make their own decision is good, but it would probably not work that very well with peoples beliefs. This ritual comes from the old belief that if you weren't baptised and member of the community and died you would go to hell. So denying some the right to baptise their children and bring them into the community in order to protect them from hell would be against the religious freedom we have. Therefore it's more important to have a school free from religion and give the children the necessary tools to judge everything by themselves.

As this post more or less is about the church I can really recommend the song Disturbing The Priest by Black Sabbath. It's one of there better songs with Ian Gillan from Deep Purple. It's even better if you listen with the intro song Stonehenge. The build up is fantastic, it feels like you are floating on an ocean and then the heartbeats began to sound, both calming and at the same time alert you that something is wrong, and then out of nowhere the mad laughter of Ian Gillan kick starts the song and you wonder what the hell happened. Maybe that's one of the reason to stay in the church, without it a lot of good music would not have been made.

I almost forgot, nr 6 of the humanist movements proposal is that the monarch should be allowed to chose there own religion. I don't have any problem with that per se as I don't care about religion, but the reason they give is because if the head of state has his religious belief written into the constitution of the country, then it is a theocracy? Even the wikipedia page state that there is a line between monarchies of grace of god and theocracy and I hardly think our king believe in the grace of god. A theocracy is a country when a deity has direct control or an appointed person instead of said deity, such as the Vatican, Iran and the Ethiopian Empire under Haile Selassie. The King is not even in control of any power and has to bow down to the parliment and are therefore not the highest authory in the land. How can it then be a theocracy?
