It's now more than a year since I was in USA for 4 months (some parts are written in Swedish, others in English). A good time but bad timing with being only 20 and 2 weeks after getting home turning to 21. Damn those alcohol laws.
Anyway, I've been home for 4 days participating in a crayfish party, a yearly tradition that I had the chance to get to since the 2 last years I missed for some reasons. 2 years ago I had to redo my last economics test and last year I had to take a flight across the Atlantic. Anyway, 4 days away and all hell breaks lose. Swedish newspaper publish some unprofessional article and the Israeli stages what can only be described as arson, murder and jaywalking and then we have some polls indicating a complete redecorating of the political parliament of Sweden for next years election. Of course the last thing is a good thing in that it with most certainty breaks the bloc politics. The question is, which bloc will fall asunder?
As usual I propose the S, Fp (and if that's not enough I can say C and Mp as well). But that would be destroying both blocs completely and probably destroy all parties credibility (of course with some at their lowest you can wonder how much more they can sink). So one party from either must leave their bloc and join the other. Historically that have always been C, but with their current leader that's probably out of the question (probably one of the reasons I don't like her, she puts her own agendas in front of what is necessary for Sweden overall). If you look at the municipality's on the other hand it's Mp that sometimes join the center-right bloc in a blue-green coalition. This is a likely outcome in that Mp often has come to agreement on other question when it comes to education and such with the center-right parties. The problem for them is that it would destroy future coalitions with the center-left parties. But they would probably win votes on their own as they would stand above the petty bloc politics that built trenches around the other parties.
Of course this is only speculations so we have to wait for the results next year. Of course, for a political scientist as myself this will be more interesting than the final in any sport event. Yeah, so I don't like sport, big deal.
